Copies of the McDonnell-Mahoney letters were provided to Kerby A. Miller by R. Dudley Edwards, University College Dublin Archives, via letter of 30 May 1978. Edwards, in his donation letter, notes: 'The Clare material comes from Michael O'Raghallaigh who had hoped he might see you before you returned to the U.S. He has left with us here some more extensive documentation connected with the family of McDonnell the writers of the emigrant letters.'
