Letters from Jack Quigley tour manager for the Abbey Theatre Company addressed to Arthur Shields, also includes a 'tentative itinerary' covering the period 19 October 1931 - 13 February 1932. Quigley was travelling ahead to the tour party organising transport, venues and accommodation; also organised engagements for members of the company for example on 25 November 1931 he writes from Toronto, Ontario 'Tuesday afternoon at 12.30 pm the Heliconian Club has invited five or six of the company luncheon. It is up to you to name the five or six...' Also letter from the Inter-Maritime Forwarding Co. Inc., Customs Brokers, Foreign Freight Forwarders, 44 Whitehall Street, New York City addressed Jack Quigley, Players Club, 15 Gramercy Park, New York City. The Inter-Maritime Forwarding Company representative advises Quigley that if he wants to avoid paying duties on the scenery he should ship it to Halifax in Canada before the next Abbey tour which was planned to begin in October 1932.
