Scope and content
Letter from W[illiam] Stanley, Secretary, Poor Law Commission Office, Dublin, to George Charles, 3rd Earl, Laleham, Chertsey, Surrey, relating to the Earl's complaint that letters written by him were surpressed in the 6th series of papers referring to the state of Unions in Ireland 'lately presented to Parliament'. Those letters concerned the non-payment of rates in the Castlebar Union, by the Earl as immediate lessor. He explains why letters received in January 1848 were not printed and offers to forward him copies.
