Scope and content

Letter from Laurie Shields addressed to Barry Fitzgerald. Laurie Shields describes how Arthur Shield has recently been working on a play for television called 'The Velvet Glove'; she writes 'In fact it's considered the thing to be on TV these days. Translated to the artist however, that means very little money and lots of prestige. Too bad one can't cash in prestige at the corner grocers.' She also describes at length the health of he sister in law bid who was also resident in California. She also announces the birth of a second daughter Jennifer to Adam Shields and his wife Nancy. She also encloses a newspaper clipping of her 'First by-line' story from the Los Angeles Examiner.
