Letter from Homer D. Swander, Associate Professor of English, University of California, Santa Barbara addressed to George P. Hunt, Managing Editor, Life, Time Inc. Rockefeller Centre, New York, N.Y. 10020. Swander writes that the 50th anniversary of the 1916 rising and the re-opening of the Abbey Theatre were due to happen 'this year' and that it might be an interesting story for 'Life' magazine. He writes 'there is only one man still living who combines in his own person the greatness both of the Abbey and of that bloody Easter Week - Mr. Arthur Shields, now in retirement in Santa Barbara.'
