Letter from W.R. Rodgers, 6 Victoria Road, Colchester, Essex, England addressed to Arthur Shields, 404 East Padre, Santa Barbara, California, U.S.A. Rodgers was an Irish poet and writer published a number of collections who also worked for the B.B.C. as a producer. Rodgers writes that he has just returned from a two months stay in Dublin where he was collecting material for two broadcasts on the 1916 Easter Rising. He writes that 'two B.B.C. broadcasts will emerge from the material. One will be a straight historical account of the Rising and its background, a 60-minutes broadcast on B.B.C. Home Service. The other will be an evocative, poetical piece ( I happen to be an Irish poet) of 60 minutes for B.B.C. Third Programme.'
