Letter from Aideen O'Connor, The Mark Twain Hotel, Eight and Pine Streets, Saint Louis addressed to her sister Eileen. O'Connor complains 'St. Louis is a very dreary city. I never liked it. We're not doing good business here either.' She goes on to write 'I haven't had a night off since the tour started. Since I went into "Silver Jubilee" it been going everywhere - They like it over here we all hate it.' 'The Silver Jubilee' by Cormac O'Daley was first produced by the Abbey on 14 September 1936. The second half of the letter was typed on the train to San Francisco somewhere in Colorado, she writes 'They had been a landslide and the line was blocked by huge boulders. It took ages to clear but we were in lovely wild country and had a great time, climbing and walking and talking and taking photographs.'
