Letters from Harold Bromley, 5 East 76th Street, New York 21, N.Y. addressed to Laurie Shields and Arthur Shields respectively. In a letter dated 13 October 1959 Bromley thanks Shields for sending a clipping from the L.A. Times. In relation to 'Goodwill Ambassador' Bromley writes 'Of Course, I have no objection to a little publicity and the mention of Arthur's possible connection with the play. You know you are a natural press agent?' Arthur Shields apparently met Bromley on his way to Dublin in October 1959.

Letter from Maureen Halligan, 9 Ladbroke Gardens, London W 11, 16 June addressed to Arthur , Laurie and Christine Shields, 1535, N. Sierra Bonita, Hollywood, California. Halligan congratulates Shields on securing a part in 'Goodwill Ambassador' and goes on to describe the play and the reaction it received in Dublin at length. She writes of the Dublin audience '[They] are too removed from the Atom bomb for the idea to have very much significance for them.'

Flack writes that he considered it a particular privilege to be able to see Shields play a part he created in 'The Plough and the Stars' and he goes on 'We would greatly appreciate if you might be willing to send us a program of the play which you have autographed, or a photograph of yourself as you appear in it.'
