As well as biographical details the questionnaire includes questions such as 'Name your first play', Shields response ' "The Lord Mayor" by Edward McNulty" ' and 'List five of your favorite books and authors' to which Shields responded ' "The Bible", "Shakespeare", "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy; "Ulysses" by James Joyce.'
Short handwritten biographical sketch of Frank J Carty, beginning with his birth on 3rd April, 1897. Gives his record during the War of Independence, including his escape from Sligo Jail in June 1920, and recapture by the Black and Tans at Moylough, Tubbercurry in November 1920, and an attempt to escape in Glasgow in May 1921. “Baby of the Second Dáil!” when elected TD for East Mayo and Sligo in June 1921, and served through nine general elections. Member for Sligo County Council, 1920-1934. He was called to the Bar, King’s Inn, Dublin in 1936.
