English translation of a letterfax from Cihan Aydın, local legal representative for Zübeyde Dulaş, providing an update on Zübeyde Dulaş including Dulaş's thoughts on the statement of 10 October 1995 as stated during a telephone call with Aydın. Dulaş stated that her statement was partially correct but that some parts did not reflect reality. She claimed that the statement took 2-to 2 1/2 hours and that th person who took the statement asked the questions in an angry, threatening manner. She confirmed that when her village was burned she did not have any knowledge of the Court but is aware now and trusts her lawyers in that respect. After she completed her statement of 10 October 1995, it was not read back to her via the translator and there was a high possibility that the statement was written down incorrectly. Dulaş emphasised that after her initial application she renewed her power of attorney multiple times. She expressed her wish to continue the case before the Court and claimed that her 10 October 1995 statement should be regarded as invalid and unacceptable.
