Folder entitled 'Camus' containing notes and lectures on Albert Camus, given by G Freyer at Danforth in the Spring of 1970 and in the autumn of 1971 and to the Modern Languages Society of UCG on 25 Jan 1978. Camus, a French writer of Algerian birth, won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1957. Includes photocopies of an article on Albert Camus by G Freyer from a book "Em[iory]", published Dublin 1950; newspaper cutting of an article by G Freyer from "The Irish Times" (5 Jan 1971), entitled 'Camus Today' marking the 10th anniversary of Camus' death; pages from "The New York Review of Books" of an essay by Conor Cruise O'Brien entitled 'Camus, Algeria and "The Fall" with G Freyer's annotations (9 Oct 1969); photocopy of an article from "The Catholic Worker" (Dec 1966) entitled 'Albert Camus and the Church' by Thomas Merton; typed pages of G Freyer's interview with Camus in April 1949; copy of "Le Figaro Litteraire" (9 Jan 1960) reporting the death of Albert Camus.
