Statement (in Turkish with English translation) of Mehmet Ali Avşar, brother of Şerif Avşar, made on 30 May 2000. He notes the harassment that he, his family, and other Kurds have experienced, and details the loss of the family fertiliser business as a result of the family being forced to migrate to various provinces of Turkey to escape local persecution. He also notes that the business' financial documents were confiscated by authorities and cannot be provided by the family as a result. This was submitted as Appendix 3 to the Applicant's Memorial in the Avşar case.
