Comments submitted by Amnesty International to the European Court of Human Rights on the Akdivar and others case with particular reference to the effectiveness and exhaustion of domestic remedies. The statement notes that: Amnesty International is unaware of any reports of compensation as yet for damage to villages in southeast Turkey; those who complain about destruction of villages may become victims of human rights abuses; and few members of the security forces are brought to justice for intimidations and human rights violations. Attached is a copy of the written request on 4 April 1996 by Amnesty International to the Court to submit comments on the subject of domestic remedies.
