Scope and content
Report prepared by Caroline Nolan on the hearings of Aktaş v. Tukey held between 15-21 November 1997 in Ankara. Nolan and Bill Bowring worked predominantly on the Aktaş case at the hearings (it is noted that Kevin Boyle and Tony Fisher worked predominantly on the Berktay case whose hearings were also held that week). Turkish lawyer Osman Baydemir was part of the team on 17-18 November, while Metin Kalivaz worked all week. Nolan summarises the proceedings and how they went for the applicant's side, including positive assessment of the Aktaş brothers as witnesses, and provides feedback on what the next steps should be as the case proceeds
