Files relating to Kevin Boyle and the United Nations. These files refer to Boyle in numerous capacities of professional and academic work and interaction with the United Nations and its Office of the High Commission for Human Rights. Boyle acted as a Special Rapporteur in 1984 and later as Special Advisor to Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland in her capacity as U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights. Boyle later acted as a consultant advisor to the U.N. and its Human Rights division. These files also contain files arranged and maintained by Boyle relating to his ongoing personal and professional relationship with Mary Robinson and her husband Nicholas Robinson. Files date from the late 1970s when Boyle and Robinson were acting legal councils and barristers and later included correspondence when Mary Robinson was President of Ireland between 1990 and 1997.
