The letters begin in 1964 between Bill Skinner (Muserights Lrd.), Cohen, and Swift, about early extracts and treatments, before continuing through the mid-1960s the production of the film and its screening at the Cork Film Festival in Sept 1966. Voice over work in the film was done by Ray McAnally.

Typed scripts, in two parts, of 'Borstal Boy' written by Brendan Behan and adapted for the stage by Frank McMahon. First produced at the abbey Theatre, Dublin, in 1967. Script is a rehearsal script, undated. Manuscript note on the cover of Part One is "Pat Laffan, Abbey Theatre' - Laffan was a cast member of the first production of the play in 1967.
