              File with information packs about The Writers in School Scheme, an initiative of the Arts Council and Poetry Ireland, designed to bring children's writers and children's books directly into Irish schools. the information packs include details of the scheme and also has a directory of all participating writers and the works /ages they write for. Carolyn Swift was listed as a participating writer.

              File 2 includes payment slips and forms/letters from the Arts Council to Carolyn Swift, owing to her work as part of the Writers in Schools scheme. Contains info of monies paid and names of schools in which Swift attended for readings and workshops.

              File 3 includes correspondence to Carolyn Swift from Poetry Ireland about the administration of the Writers in Schools scheme and discussing programming, scheduling of talks at schools by Swift, and general planning of Swift's involvement on the Writers in Schools scheme, and wider education and outreach activities by Poetry Ireland.

              Files relating to the Children's Literature World Congress, 'Writers and Readers', held in Oslo, Norway, 23 - 25 September 1988. Swift was a speaker at this world congress with a paper entitled "The influence of The Oral Tradition on Children's Literature in Ireland". File includes marked-up annotated text of the talk by Swift, a second clean typed version of the talk, programme and flyer from the congress with listing of all speakers and congress schedule.

              Files 2 - 3 include texts of other papers presented at the congress and about children's literature, writing, reading, and publishing in a number of different countries around the world.

              File with text of talk by Carolyn Swift, entitled "Our Cousins - The Egyptians", which was delivered at an event organised by the Israel/Ireland Friendship League, held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Eden Quay, Dublin, Wednesday 16 April 1980. Multiple typed copies of the talk, annotated by hand by Swift.

              Letters between Swift and Alice Darlington, President of the Ireland - Israel Friendship League, discussing plans for the talk including earliest letter of invitation to Swift from Darlington hoping that Swift will give a talk for the League (7 Aug 1979); letter of invitation issued to the talk by the League and on League headed paper; Letter from Swift to the Cultural Attaché, Embassy of Egypt, Mount Merrion, Dublin (Jan 1980). Also list of slides and images used by Swift as part of the talk.
