Scope and content

1) Observations (in French) of the Turkish Government on the Nesime Haran application to the European Commission of Human Rights. The Government denies that any security operations took place in Arıklı on 12 May 1994 and that İhsan Haran was never taken into police custody (CLOSED UNTIL 2073/11/01); 2) Applicant's reply (in English) to the Government's observations. The applicant notes that the complaints about the destruction of the village pertain to the Mehmet Haran application (A44/43/1/35) and that the applicant's complaints regard the disappearance of her husband. The reply states that 'it is a fallacy to talk of seeking a civil remedy where there has been no investigation to determine the facts of her husband's appearance'. (2 copies); 3) Decision published 22 June 1999 by the European Court of Human Rights unanimously deeming the application of Nesime Haran against Turkey admissible. The back page is embossed with the Court's seal (3 copies). The decision is available for viewing at https://hudoc.echr.coe.int/eng?i=001-4652
