Memorandum of Agreement
Parties: Frederick Robert Higgins, Director, on behalf of the National Theatre Society Limited (herein called the Director) of the first part and Arthur Shields (herein called the Artist) of the second part.
Terms and Conditions: The Director engages the artist to rehearse, study, understudy and perform to the best of his ability all parts which the Artist may be cast for in any play forming part of the repertory of the National Theatre Society Ltd. or in any new play produced by the Society in the United States of America or Canada. The said agreement to take effect approximately October 1 1937 for a period of not less than ten weeks. During the continuance of this agreement the Director agrees to pay the artist a weekly salary of $150.
