Scope and content

The Maune and O'Callaghan diaries are a series of 4 diaries and memoirs written by members of the Maun/Maune/O'Callaghan family. John Maune (later Maun) and his wife Ellen O'Callaghan Maune were married in Knockaderry, County Limerick in 1847 and emigrated to New York in 1849. The family progressively moved west, ultimately establishing themselves in Nebraska by 1858.
