Materials pertaining to Margaret Coll McDevitt's memoir, 'I don't know why you're all crying. We're gonna go anyway.' Coll McDevitt's memoir is an account of her visit to Ireland as a young child. She travelled from Philadelphia, where she was born to Irish parents, to stay with her maternal Irish-speaking grandparents in Cresslough, County Donegal for several months in 1922 and 1923 when she was nine years old. The series consists of: photocopies of photos related to Coll McDevitt and family; a photocopy of the typed memoir, including a list of family members and recorded quotes; census research; and a photocopied letter from Coll McDevitt to her grandson.
