              Correspondence between James A Shortall and Tim Robinson discuss the project's merits, and Shortall has forwarded on some examples of Source Booklets on Aran that have been prepared for the programme. (18 Sep 1975-1 Dec 1975)

              Handwritten letter to Tim and Máiréad Robinson from Tom Cluney, a Texas man who spent a summer in Aran in the early 1980's, and a copy of Tim's response. (26 Oct 2005 - 31 Jan 2006). The letter encloses a photograph of 2 smiling men in an embrace, named on the back as Mikey McDonagh and Brian Ferity. The letter includes rich reminiscences of the author's memory of them. 6pp;

              Material relating to Tim Robinson's first map of the Burren, 'The Burren: a two-inch map of the uplands of north-west Clare'. The map was published in 1977. The archive includes annotated reference maps, field notes, correspondence relating to placenames and archaeological sites. See P120/3/2/4/5 for a conference paper given by Robinson in 1999 in which he describes his Burren mapping methodology

              File of six-inch Ordnance Survey maps of Clare from the 1915 and 1916 editions. There are 13 in total, sheet numbers: 1, 2, 3 & 3a, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 14 & 8a, 15, 16 and 17.

              The maps have been annotated by Tim Robinson with borders outlined in coloured ink, and notes in pencil. An indexing system used on the maps by Robinson corresponds with his field notebook (see P120/3/2/1/2).

              Three copies of a list of Burren Placenames. The first list is a handwritten draft with lots of notes. The second list is typed, and arranged into 3 columns that give the OS form of the place name, other known versions of the name, and the suggested Irish form. The third list is a carbon copy of the typed list and has several handwritten edits from Robinson and Micheál Ó Maolchaoine / Michael (Pop) Mulqueeny.

              Two handwritten letters from Charles Self to Robinson, in the process of writing a book on behalf of the University of Bristol's Speleological Society. The first letter requests permission to use the boundaries of Robinson's Burren maps, upon which he has added cave and water tracing information. The second letter discusses how problematic the spelling of the names of caves can be, and agrees to help Robinson in marking caves in the revised map. (6-30 March 1980), 3pp;
