Correspondence to Mary Robinson (MR) in her role as Senator including correspondence between MR and Mr A Mulligan regarding details of MR's visit to Chicago, March 1980, which included possible meeting with Ronald Reagan, Republican candidate for Presidential election (USA), editorial meeting with Mr James Jackson, Chicago Tribune, and dinner/lecture before Chicago Council on Foreign Relations "Ireland and the European Community in the 1980's", [?]/03/1980; correspondence with Dr Ritchie in relation to his clients, a married couple, being refused insurance cover for a vasectomy for the husband, who needed it because wife was not suitable candidate for either having her tubes tied, or carrying pregnancy in future, 28/09/1983-30/07/1984. Correspondence from members of the public in relation to the Family Planning Bill 1973 (relating to removal of contraception ban) which Mary Robinson was bringing to Dáil, and their support or opposition to it, as it went through various stages. As per final letter in this folder, it was defeated on a vote at the second reading in the Senate, and a government bill had just been published but had not yet moved to second stage in the Dáil [lower house of parliament], 19/04/1974.
