Letter from Laurie Shields addressed to Roinn Cosanta (Department of Defence) in Dublin, relating to her application for allowance for as the widow of a military service pensioner. In the letter Mrs. Shields apologises for her tardy reply to requests for a completed application form, she explains that the initial marriage certificate which she received from the parish records in Sepulveda was incorrect so 'this meant a trip to Los Angeles to the Hall of Records where the correct facts were recorded.'
