Scope and content
Letter from James A Grant in which he sends him, at Mr Palmer's suggestion, correspondence relating to 'through booking'. The Congested Districts Board, who 'seem as if they would grant anything to Aran', have referred to this with regard to the renewal of their contract. The Company would have to join the Irish Railways' Clearing House to provide through booking. He is opposed to this and cannot see the benefit for the islands. Mr Paler's idea that Sir George Morris and the Hon R Nugent might be able to get a cross channel steamboat company or one of the railways to object to their joining the clearing house. He concludes 'I trust you are still improving in health'.
