Scope and content

Letter from Hilton Edwards, Genazzano, 5 Dungriffan Villas, Howth, Co Dublin, to Prof. Ó Briain, offering advice on lighting and also a rough lighting plan for the Theatre. He thanks him for his help in the matter of expenses from his trip to Galway. He points out that, although the lighting is expensive, it will be helpful. "... and if the Galway Theatre is to be a modern theatre, I see no advantage in putting in the old fashioned batteries & rows of electric bulbs". He also suggests that modern lighting is needed to compete against the comfort of cinema "as well as the magnificent lighting & production of films".
