Letter from Denis P Shanaghan, Runaí Aire, Roinn Airgid, to Prof. Liam Ó Briain, stating that he has been directed by the Minister to enclose a copy of a letter to Dr. Ó Beirne for his information. Enclosed copy letter from Earnán de Blaghd, to Dr. Ó Beirn, asking him to call on him in Dublin when he gets the chance. He states that it is important to retain Mac Liammóir for direction, as there were many faults in their play on Sunday. He states that he is in the process of issuing an ultimatum to the Dublin Comhar, complaining that attending their performances "…has become more of a penance that a pleasure…". He states that he hopes that the Galway theatre will develop, but states that performances "must be of high artistic merit, otherwise it would bring no prestige to the language". He states that the performance on Sunday was not the stuff from which a national theatre would develop.
