Scope and content
"Letter from David Marcus, Poolbeg Press, to Eoghan Ó Tuairisc thanking him for his letter on ""Anam an Easpaig"", saying that he understands his reluctance to translate the story and that he had the same qualms himself. ""Of course it deals with a period when Republicanism was respectable and patriotic … I am loath to put in the book any piece from which sustenance may be drawn by the wrong elements"". He asks him to find a different story if possible. He is also happy to hear that John McGahern was pleased with the Ó Cadhain translation, and on Eoghan's suggestion he wrote to him to ask if he would contribute to the Ó Conaire book."
