Letter from David Gunston, Lawnswood, Uplands Road, Denmead, Hampshire, England addressed to Arthur Shields, 1535, North. Sierra Bonita Avenue, Hollywood, 46, Calif, U.S.A. Gunston writes that 'In connection with a adult film group here, a local university encourages, under its adult further education schemes, individual research projects based upon a wide range of film subjects... I have chosen "The Film Work of Arthur Shields" .' Gunston writes that he is attempting to compile a full filmography for Shields and he also praises Shields on the basis that he possesses 'three major attributes so many film performers of today lack: presence, a fine voice, and acting versatility (which of course your many years at the Abbey must have contributed to enormously).'
