Letter addressed to Laurie Shields at 3111 Calle Rosales, Santa Barbara, CA from Arvid F. Sponberg, Assistant Professor of English at Valparaiso University, Indiana. Sponberg writes that he is 'trying to learn what became of the original Abbey actors after they made theatrical history under Yeats and the Fays between 1902 and 1912.' Sponberg requested that he made be allowed to see any letter Mrs. Shields had relating to the period and also enclosed 'a list of people who performed at the Abbey during its early days.' The attached list includes the names Sara Allgood, Dudley Digges and J.M. Kerrigan.
