Original typed notes prepared by Canon Hayes for a lecture at St. Mary's Hotel, Belfast, 25 February 1942. Hayes talks about the current war (World War II) as 'Two great philosophies, both doubtful in character… struggling for victory.' He states that 'science uncontrolled by moral and social laws' has become a danger, that the working classes have surrendered to state control, and that Muintir na Tíre is working to revive community spirit in order to establish a 'Christian Order'. Includes annotations and corrections.
