Scope and content

Letter from Charles Phibbs, son-in-law, to Thomas Ormsby of Ballinamore, Co. Mayo. From Camlin, County Roscommon, he begins his letter "you will no doubt be disappointed at the low price I send you for your bay horse [19 guineas] ... I never saw so low prices for every kind of cattle as there was at Boyle ... wool sold by the bag from £1.3.6 to £1.4.6 ... You will see from the paper today that Bonaparte is in England at last in safe hands". In a note at the end "I could not get any other notes from the man, endorsed them on the back R. Johnston badly written".
