The leaflet announces the tour as the 'First American Tour in Seventeen Years' and features photographs of several of the Abbey actors, including Barry Fitzgerald, Arthur Shields, F.J. McCormick and Eileen Crowe; the leaflet also lists some of the plays in the company's repertoire, this list includes St. John Ervine's 'John Ferguson', Sean O'Casey's 'The Plough and the Stars' and Lennox Robinson's 'The Far-Off Hills' (3 copies)

Includes customs form dated 13 October 1931 issued to Lennox Robinson for 75 pieces of theatrical scenery and 21 packages of theatrical effects which arrived on the S.S. Laconia. Also includes customs forms for the transfer of scenery between the United States and Canada. Also includes Bill of Lading dated 1 May 1932 for the return transport of the scenery to Ireland on the British Vessel Scythia.

Letters from Jack Quigley tour manager for the Abbey Theatre Company addressed to Arthur Shields, also includes a 'tentative itinerary' covering the period 19 October 1931 - 13 February 1932. Quigley was travelling ahead to the tour party organising transport, venues and accommodation; also organised engagements for members of the company for example on 25 November 1931 he writes from Toronto, Ontario 'Tuesday afternoon at 12.30 pm the Heliconian Club has invited five or six of the company luncheon. It is up to you to name the five or six...' Also letter from the Inter-Maritime Forwarding Co. Inc., Customs Brokers, Foreign Freight Forwarders, 44 Whitehall Street, New York City addressed Jack Quigley, Players Club, 15 Gramercy Park, New York City. The Inter-Maritime Forwarding Company representative advises Quigley that if he wants to avoid paying duties on the scenery he should ship it to Halifax in Canada before the next Abbey tour which was planned to begin in October 1932.

The 'Day of the week' and 'Day of the month' fields are printed, for example 'Mon.','5'. Each entry (which appear to ignore the field headings) is composed of a city location, a performance time and an abbreviated play title, for some days two performances are included, For example Wednesday 6 January 1932 'Minneapolis Minn', 'Matt. W.H.B., Eve F.O.H.' Plays listed include 'W.H.B.' ('The Whiteheaded Boy'), 'F.O.H.' ('The Far-Off Hills') both by Lennox Robinson, 'J.F.' ('John Ferguson') by St. John Ervine 'Juno' ('Juno and The Paycock') by Sean O'Casey and 'Play' ('Playboy of the Western World') by J.M. Synge. Cities visited include Chicago, Boston, Vancouver, Tallahassee, Buffalo.
