Carbon copy of a handwritten letter from Robinson to Etienne Rynne on the subject of local antiquities in Clare being stolen and sold. (31 Aug 1984) 1p;

Correspondence between Paul Walsh of the Archaeological Branch of the Ordnance Survey and Tim Robinson. Walsh writes seeking information from Robinson on possible pre-historic burial structures on Slieve Carran, and encloses a photocopied article by the Burren Wildlife Foundation. Copy reply from Robinson who has found a reference to these structures in his diary from 1976. Two local sources believed them to be 19th century enclosures for storing cow dung. Letter from Walsh enclosing an offprint of an article he wrote with Carleton Jones a 'Recent Discoveries on Roughaun Hill, county Clare'. Correspondence between Oliver Lloyd of the University of Bristol Speleological Society and Robinson. Lloyd is writing a paper, and wishes to be consistent in the language of his placenames, so he seeks verification on the correct English spellings of Cathair, Mhaol and Bheag. Carbon copy of a detailed reply from Robinson explaining his approach is contrary to the anglicisation of Irish placenames. Subsequent correspondence discusses the Irish Whitebeam.

Handwritten letter to Robinson from Tomás [ ] from the Royal Irish Academy on the origin of the word 'pampúta / pampootie' and its use on the Aran Islands, encloses a photocopied page from an article written by T S Ó Máille. Letter and photocopy are in Irish. (11 Feb 1991) 2pp;

Four letters with enclosures to Robinson from Diarmuid [Breathnach], on the writer's plans for a 4th and 5th volume of 'Beathaisnéis', to include an English language version. The first two letters are in English, and were posted together (9-10 Mar 1994). These letters enclose a draft Irish language biography of Micheál Ó Maoláin intended for publication in 'Beathaisnéis'. A subsequent letter to Robinson from Breathnach gives more information on Ó Maoláin, and also mentions Maggie Dirrane. Enclosed with the letter is an Irish language biography of David O'Callaghan, a school teacher on Inis Meáin between 1880 and 1884 who got into trouble for not punishing his pupils for speaking Irish. Letters written in 1864, by Mrs Wilson to John Wilson Lynch concern the transfer of the Belvoir estate to John Wilson Lynch, following her husband's death earlier in the year. A series of letters from Edward Thomas Stapleton, 30 College Green, Dublin, solicitor, to John Wilson Lynch, reflect the legal side of the 1864 transfer. Other legal correspondence relates to the sale of the head rent of Lissyegan, parish of Ahascragh, Co. Galway to pay off a mortgage of £6,000 held on Roo Demesne, part of the Duras estate. E T Stapleton had married John Wilson Lynch's sister Ellen in 1855.
