Letters include from Boyle to Kit Carson of La Trobe University, Melbourne, where Boyle was based, informing Carson of having applied for position of Article and outlining his reasons but also his position being torn between staying in Australia and contributing to an Australian Human Rights Centre (8 Apr 1986); letter of expression of interest in position of Director of Article 19, from Boyle to Martin Ennals (8 Apr 1986); Letters present also discuss the decision on a premises and base for Article 19; the Job Description advertised for the position of Director of Article 19; a letter of application and essay of interest sent by Boyle in relation to position of Director of Article 19 (Apr 1986), letters of reference in support of Boyle, including those written by David Astor (Jun 1986); the letter from the Board of Article 19 writing to Kevin Boyle confirming and offering Boyle the position of Director of Article 19; Other letters refer to Northern Ireland such as from Jim Cotton, of the Boston Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Massasoit Community College who discusses a booklet he wrote on the Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association (NICRA) and comments on the atmosphere in 1970 and on John Hume, Bernadette Devlin, Eamon McCann, Michael Farrell and others involved at the time (29 Dec 1986). Letter also present from Senator Mary Robinson S.C., Ranelagh, to Boyle and wishing him well in position with Article 19. (14 Nov 1986)
