References to the good character and medical ability of Peter Freyer from the staff of QCG, Dr Steevens' Hospital, Dublin and 2 surgeons working in the North West Provinces of India in the 1880s. Most of the testimonials were printed c 1889 in support of Freyer's memorial to the Secretary of State for India against the bar on his promotion, imposed by the Lieutenant Governor of the NWP and Oudh.
