Statement from lawyer Cihan Aydın, local representative for İhsan Bilgin, on behalf of Bilgin communicating his thoughts on the Turkish Government's 24 November 1998 damage assessment report of his home in which the Government claims that it had not been burned or destroyed by the use of force but that the cause of the collapse was neglect and natural force. Aydın states: that the inspection took place five years after the destruction of the home; that the house's foundations were measured as substantially smaller than they actually were as many of stones had been repurposed by other villagers; and that the amounts of livestock and possessions Bilgin's possession were inaccurate.
