Black and white and also colour photographs taken from 'The Big Game' by Macnas. this event preceded the Connacht Senior Gaelic Football Final, at Castlebar, Co. Mayo. It was further preceded by a parade through the town to the stadium. Includes workshop images of the 'big heads' being constructed and shaped; images of football training sessions, images of the stadium and of the performance at the Final by Macnas members. Also a shot of Rod Goodall in costume as a Bishop and mimicking Bishop of Galway, Eamon Casey.

Production notebook relating to production and development of The Big Game by Macnas, which was staged as part of the 1987 Connacht (Gaelic) Football Final in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. A4 hardback bound notebook, with manuscript notes and drawings of scenarios and scenes of the production, and also drawings of the proposed set/staging. Notebook is in the name of Paraic Breathnach. The Big Day Out. Black and white photographs taken during the outdoor concert event, the Big Day Out, as part of the Galway Arts Festival. Acts at the Big Day Out include Radiohead, The Bluetones, Neneh Cherry, the Cardigans and the Divine Comedy. Images feature shots of the large crowd that attended the outdoor event. Images are taken facing the stage directly, from the side and also one image from the stage area facing the crowd. Images are portrait and landscape. Also included are professional promotional portrait images of Neil Hannon, singer with the Divine Comedy. Photographer of this image is named as Kevin Westenburg. All images measure 203mm X 254mm and include a white border.

This relates to Thomas Kilroy's novel "The big chapel", published by Faber and Faber in 1971. There are a succession of drafts, correspondence with the agent, with Faber, and with Liberties Press (reprint 2009). There are drafts for a television adaptation (not realised) and for a radio play (RTE 2003). Further, there are press reviews of book and radio play.
