Letters from David Clarke of 306 W 91st St., New York, NY 10024 addressed to Laurie and Arthur Shields at 404 East Padre, Santa Barbara, California. Clarke (1908-2004) appeared in several feature films and Broadway shows. Letters relate to plans Clarke had for a trip to Ireland and advice that Laurie Shields had given him; in letter dated 6 May 1967 Clarke writes 'Donal Donnelly has spent vacations in the Aran Islands and has given us addresses of friends there, not only on Inishmore but on the two smaller islands.
