Application of Yavuz Binbay submitted to the European Commission of Human Rights to pursue a case against Turkey regarding repeated violence and intimidation against himself and his property committed by Turkish authorities or with their connivance between 21 March 1992 and 11 February 1994 on account of his activities in the Human Rights Association and his Kurdish origin. Appended to the application are: a November 1992 issue of the Amnesty International publication Urgent Action (publication numbers AI EUR 44/77/92) appealing for action regarding the 21 March 1992 beating of Binbay by police (it is noted in both the application and the Amnesty International article that the Van Chief of Police stepped in to save Binbay from further beating); Binbay's request for assessment of damage to his premises on 20 March 1992 and the accordant report detailing the damages; a report by William Bourdon of the International Federation for Human Rights regarding Binbay's trial of July 1992 in the State Security Tribunal; a vehicle witness and assessment report filed by Binbay's wife reporting damage to her husband's car; a medical report on Binbay of 25 February 1994 from Sevgi Hospital following another police beating; statements made by Binbay on 7 December 1992 and 26 May 1994 regarding his beatings, harassment, and personal situation; and Binbay's letter to the Commission authorising Kevin Boyle and Françoise Hampson to be his legal representatives.

Application of Zübeyir Dündar submitted to the European Commission of Human Rights to pursue a case against Turkey regarding the unlawful 1992 killing of his mentally disabled son, Mesut Dündar, and the subsequent failure to carry out an effective investigation into the circumstances of the killing.
