Correspondence pertaining to Muintir na Tíre's solicitation of potential corporate facilitators for newspaper advertisements promoting the National Collection for the work of Muintir na Tíre, 29 May 1954. Canon Hayes wrote to companies asking them to insert mentions of the collection into one of their advertisements if they are advertising in the daily newspapers printed during this week as Muintir na Tíre could not afford to do so on their own. Includes:
-Unsigned letter from Canon Hayes to Messrs. Ferguson Ltd., Dublin, asking them to print the attached copy. Attached are two slips of paper noting that 'The National Collection for the work of Muintir na Tíre will be held on next Sunday May 29th in many parishes throughout Ireland. Individual subscriptions will be gratefully received at Muintir na Tíre, National Headquarters, Tipperary.' (24 May 1954, 3pp);
-Letter from Peter McCarthy, Chairman, O'Dea & Co. Ltd., to Canon Hayes agreeing to donate a panel in that Saturday's edition of the Irish Times, stating he will do his best to include it in that day's edition of the Irish Independent as well; and enclosing a small donation (24 May 1955, 1p);
-Letter from W.J. Delaney, Manager, Advertising & Public Relations Dept., Esso Petroleum Company (Ireland) Limited, to Canon Hayes regretting that Esso cannot include a mention as their advertisements are laid out weeks in advance (25 May 1955, 1p);
-Letter from Sean Hayes, Aer Lingus, to Canon Hayes, stating that Aer Lingus cannot fulfil this request as Aer Lingus is a state-subsidised company and doing this for one organisation would mean having to accede to every request for similar concessions (26 May 1955, 1p);
-Letter from Peter McCarthy, Chairman, O'Dea & Co. Ltd., to Canon Hayes thanking him for his letter of thanks and hoping to arrange a visit (1 June 1955, 1p).
