File containing accounts, circulars and subscriptions relating to the Padraig O Conaire Memorial Fund, c/o Thomas Concannon, Salthill, Galway. Includes audited accounts by Duffy, Tierney & Co., 14 Ship Street, Galway. It shows a surplus of £56.2.7 that was donated to Comlucht Gaedeal na Gallimhe (2 May 1951). Also cheque receipt book, processed cheques and bankbook of the Coisde Cuimneain Padraig Conaire. Invoices for the printing costs for circulars, advertisements and costs and fee of the sculptor, Albert G Power, 18 Geraldine St., Dublin NW 4. Also circulars and letters to various groups. Includes one to Galway Urban District Council outlining the reason for delays and that the project has not been abandoned. It finishes, “We may add that the Memorial Committee proposes to draw up on parchment a list of the subscribers to the Memorial to be deposited in the Archives of the City of Galway so that future historians of the city by the Corrib will report the names of those to whose generosity she is indebted for such a gift of art” (5 June 1933). Also draft list of subscribers including Eamonn de Valera, Lady Gregory and many more (12pp).
