Material in this file relates to "Feachtas na gCairteacha" [“Cart” campaign] and the cases of Irish merchants being fined in the early 20th century for having their names in Irish on their carts (1905, 1906). Includes copy of Douglas Hyde memoirs 1918 (pg 31-34) and article "Pádraig Mac Piarais, Conradh na Gaeilge agus Feachtas na gCairteacha", by Seán MacMathúna. In one of Pearse’s first law cases he co-defended one such merchant.
