Documents submitted by the Turkish Government pertaining to the proceedings in Diyarbakır State Security Court against former PKK team commander and 'confessor' Ali Veriş, who alleged that Ramazan and Cemile Şarlı were taken to join the PKK and were executed when they tried to return to their home. On 9 May 1998, Veriş was sentenced to life imprisonment for 28 separate crimes. Veriş had testified before the Commission in the Şarlı case; the Commission found that 'The account of Ali Veriş was riddled with contradictions'.
