Correspondence authored, received, and/or compiled by Bill Bowring, Kevin Boyle, Aisling Reidy, and Françoise Hampson pertaining to the İpek case. The correspondence is with the European Commission of Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights, and the Kurdish Human Rights Project. Notable items within this correspondence accessible to the public include: Boyle and Hampson's letter of 18 November 1994 introducing the application; letters which accompanied documents and observations submitted on behalf of the applicants; requests on behalf of the applicant for extensions of document submission deadlines; the applicant’s reply of 4 October 1995 to the Turkish Government’s observations on the case in which the applicant states that no effective domestic investigation is taking place pertaining to the case and that security forces did indeed carry out operations in the applicant’s village as evidenced by an Amnesty International report; the Court’s letter of 26 August 1999 informing that the Court has now taken over examination of the case; and the Court’s letter of 29 March 2000 acknowledging that Boyle and Hampson have withdrawn as legal representative in the case. No correspondence is present in the file between November 1995 and March 1999.
