The correspondence is with the European Commission of Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights, and the Kurdish Human Rights Project. Notable items within this correspondence accessible to the public include: letters which accompanied documents and observations submitted on behalf of the applicants; the 3 December 1993 notice of the Elçi and others application; the 28 April 1994 and 3 September 1994 notices of the Şahin & Şahin application; requests from the applicants' representatives requesting extensions for document submissions; the 2 June 1994 request of the KHRP to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture to investigate the torture of Tahir Elçi; letters from the Court requesting information from the applicants' representatives and accordant letters of acknowledgment of receipt; correspondence from the legal team regarding the 2 December 1996 case hearing, including procedural correspondence and lists of proposed witnesses; statements of means from many of the applicants submitted with regards to obtaining legal aid from the Commission; and the 23 June 2000 notice from Boyle and Hampson that they were withdrawing as legal representatives in the cases.
