Correspondence authored, received, and/or compiled by Kevin Boyle, Aisling Reidy, Bill Bowring, and Françoise Hampson pertaining to the Mahmut Demir and Sıddık Yaşa cases. The correspondence is with the European Commission of Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights, and the Kurdish Human Rights Project. Notable items within this correspondence accessible to the public include: letters which accompanied documents and observations submitted on behalf of the applicants; requests on behalf of the applicant for extensions of document submission deadlines; procedural correspondence pertaining to the 18-20 November 1996 case hearings in Ankara; the petition of fellow Tepecik resident Alaattin Can to the Diyarbakır Administrative Court and the 14 July 1995 decision of the court awarding Can compensation for his destroyed home and property (submitted by the applicants at the request of the Commission); and letters from the Court requesting information from the applicant’s representatives and acknowledging receipt of correspondence.
