Surmising that his critical stance towards the government, RTÉ or language organisations in the Republic may be to blame; stating that he is highly critical of ""those who would denigrate the national ideals or endeavour to use them to further their own terrorist aims"". Doubting that his support for the SDLP and John Hume could be deemed unacceptable. Otherwise appreciating opportunity to write for readers in the north, as a Belfastman."
