Statement (in Turkish with English translation) of Necati Aydın made on 23 January 1993 regarding his involvement with Tüm Sağlık-Sen (Health Workers’ Trade Union), of which he was a founding member and later president. Aydın notes the harassment from government officials that resulted from his involvement, his 17-day detainment and torture in 1992 which resulted in permanent kidney damage, and his forced transfer of employment from Diyarbakır to Corum ('I was transferred from Diyarbakır to Curum for being the President of the Union and for being a Kurd'). He concludes by stating that the transfer has destroyed all plans for his life and his family unity, and requests that he be transferred back to his previous workplace and that the damage he has suffered be redressed. The statement was taken as part of Necati's own application to be submitted to the European Court of Human Rights (A44/43/1/13/3/2).
