Scope and content
Witness statements (in Turkish with English translations) from three supporting witnesses, including:
-Salih Güler, a Dicle University student who was arrested on 4 April 1994 and detained in the Anti-Terror Branch alongside a number of people including Necati Aydın, who Güler recognised from his time as leader as the university's education faculty association leader. He stated that Aydın has told him that he had been tortured and was extremely worried that he was going to be killed;
-Yasemin Aydın, who stated that she was at her nephew Hilal’s house with family when the police arrived, with her cousin Mehmet Ay whom they had taken from a café, and confiscated all of the family’s identification before taking the family to the Anti-Terror Branch. Yasemin was detained for 12 days before being released. It was after her release that she learned that Necati and Mehmet had been released only to go missing inside the State Security Court.
-Şemsettin Aydın, father of Necati, who repeatedly received little or no response to petitions and visits to the State Security Court regarding the whereabouts of Necati until such time as it was revealed that Necati and Mehmet Ay had been found dead. He had waited all day at the door of the court where Necati and Ay were being held on 4 April 1994 with no sign of them leaving the building.
